The weather in Mallorca was absolutely amazing! Not too hot, not too cold. The perfect weather for hiking up Mallorca’s hills. But let’s be real here. I’m not about to pretend I walked up any of those hills in pumps or dainty flats. It’s not very easy to walk through hiking trails, hence the ripped stalkings and my Adidas Superstars, which need to be replaced very very soon. You may call it unfashionable, but I think fashion is about working with what you’ve got and still being able to represent creativity. A look, if you will. So for this trip, I tried to put together realistic travel outfits that would also be fit for the reality of Mallorca’s craggy topography.
As one of my first posts on this website, I want to make it clear that I will be striving for transparency in my work. The virtual image of a woman walking through Greece in heels easily manifests on our screens, but it fails to relate to the real women hunched over their suitcases actually contemplating whether practicality or fashionability should win that last shoe crook in the suitcase. When visiting or exploring a new place and traversing old cobblestone streets, you want to be able to enjoy yourself. Braving the heals really isn’t worth it. So, this an outfit I was comfortable enough in to truly drive around, walk around, and explore in. Perhaps all my outfits may not be as comfortable but we shall see.
